Middle-aged couples needed for a research study on sleep, daily routines and health

Are you married or in a long-term cohabiting relationship for at least one year? Are both partners ages 45–64, overweight or obese and does at least one partner have type 2 diabetes? If so, you may be eligible to participate in a University of Missouri research study examining how couples’ daily routines—such as sleep and activity patterns—and relationship quality relate to cardiovascular health and everyday well-being.

Participation involves one or two in-person research visits at the University of Missouri, followed by a 20-day at-home period. During this time, both partners will wear a wrist device that measures sleep and activity and a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) worn on the arm, complete brief smartphone-based surveys four times per day and return devices at the end of the study.

Each partner can earn up to $215 for full participation, for a total of up to $430 per couple.

For more information, contact Eunjin Tracy in the Department of Human Development and Family Science, University of Missouri — eunjintracy@missouri.edu.

Location: CTSU West, University Hospital, 5th Floor, 1 Hospital Dr, Columbia, MO 65201

Stop Working Around Your Allergies. Start Living Beyond Them

Sneezing, congestion, itchy eyes and sinus pressure can make everyday life uncomfortable. If allergies are affecting your sleep, focus or time outdoors, it may be time to understand what’s causing your symptoms. At the ENT & Allergy Center, we provide evaluations and, when appropriate, comprehensive testing to identify your specific triggers and develop a personalized treatment plan. We also offer immunotherapy options, including allergy shots and needle-free alternatives like drops, tablets and toothpaste, designed to address the root cause of allergies over time. Whether your symptoms are new or something you’ve dealt with for years, an evaluation can help you feel more comfortable and in control. To schedule your allergy evaluation, please call (573) 817-3000, no referral needed.
